This joint talk will address issues related to awareness of equality, diversity, and inclusion (What is racism? Classification of racism, why it is important). Topics include the impact of race and equality issues on mental health and well-being at workplace (Psychology of racism). The talk will highlight the role of deep-rooted racism and/or gender inequality in impacting well-being at workplaces/in academia (How it affects the workplace, jobs. What are microaggressions? The role of empathy). Lastly, Dr. Faber and Dr. Williams will address how we can work towards ensuring equality and well-being amongst researchers and at research institutes and universities and how to promote steps towards institutional changes; Individual, organizational and structural aspects of race/gender equality and mental health in workplaces (Individual and Structural solutions).
